Google on Nexus One for Verizon… Uh, Nevermind.
Posted on 26. Apr, 2010 by Cellular Sales in Company News, Equipment
Google just did an about face and announced that their Nexus One handset will NOT be available on the Verizon network, and they suggest you buy a DROID Incredible by HTC instead. Cellular Sales is happy to see this announcement, because the Nexus One was set only to be available online through Google’s website (not CellularSales.com or Verizon’s site). And while we were not that worried that online handset sales through Google were going to cut into our numbers, we would prefer to have all equipment options available to us in our retail environment.
Cellular Sales does customer service better than anyone, and smartphones require more time with a wireless expert than most cellphones. So maybe Google’s decision was based on issues they had with customer service for the T-Mobile version? Not sure, but we’re happy to see it. And it makes us even more excited about Thursday’s launch of the Incredible. Visit CellularSales.com to find a location near you. Pre-order by calling a store. Pre-order will not be available through CellularSales.com.

Cellular Sales Customers Donate 70,000 Minutes And Counting
Posted on 26. Mar, 2010 by Cellular Sales in Company News, Equipment
Cellular Sales’ customers and sales team have donated enough used equipment through the Cell Phones For Soldiers organization to have provided talk-time for an entire battalion. I’d like to give an Internet shout out to our sales team and all the generous customers who have helped make this program take off. Particularly Valarie White in Savannah, GA, who started the whole thing. Brian Snyder, Regional Director of Savannah, GA, said, “We are truly making a difference in the lives of our troops by helping them stay close to their friends and families while they are serving our country abroad.”
Speaking of old cell phones, here is a good assembly of a few old school (“antique”) cell phones that would be worthy of donation.

Here at Cellular Sales, we’re always geeking out on phone features. Here’s one of the fun and simple features in the Verizon Wireless line-up that has a lot of people smiling:
The EnV3 and EnV Touch both have a camera option called `Smile Shot.` It won`t take a picture unless the subject of said photo is smiling, and when they do smile it takes it automatically. Enjoy!!

Apple And Verizon Consider iPhone Deal

By: Leslie Cauley, USA Today
Verizon and Apple are discussing the possible development of an iPhone for Verizon, with the goal of introducing it next year, people familiar with the situation say.
It would mark the first time Apple has produced a version of the iPhone for a CDMA wireless network, which is different from AT&t’s GSM technology. Vodafone, co-owner of Verizon Wireless, already sells the iPhone in Europe.

LG Versa Offiicially Debuting Next Week
Verizon Wireless has announced plans to release one of the most anticipated smartphones of this season: the LG Versa. This is the first time Verizon has said anything about model on the record, but details on it have been slipping out for weeks. Alec Rankine, a Cellular Sales Regional Director said, “The LG Versa looks to be a great device and on the cutting edge. I can’t wait to get into the hands of our customers.”
Verizon has confirmed that the Versa will have a tablet shape with a 3- inch, 480-by-240-pixel, touchscreen interface with tactile feedback.
What will set it apart from other LG Smartphones is an attachable QWERTY keyboard. The goal of this device is to allow users to carry around a relatively small phone, but have the option to convert it into a larger but more capable unit for writing emails and text messages.
